 In 1873 Mountfort supervised construction, this church of English architect Sir George Gilbert Scott's designed which was not finally complete until 1904.  He was born in England and start 2nd survey from England on 1 June 1910 for arrive the Antarctic South Pole, even failed to survey on 1904. And Robert Amundsen (Norway) had start late 2 months. But Amundsen arrived South Pole on 14 December 1911, than Scott arrived on 18 Jan.1912. He died at 18km near the Base Camp for return on 29 March 1912.
